And… we’re back. How was your August? Did you see or do anything that you want to share with other Stored Honey readers? Mine was strangely quiet in terms of arts and culture although I did have a little trip to Blackpool where my friend’s little boy said he would “scream every single minute” if we didn’t go to see the comedy carpet. The joke below made me chuckle.

This is Stored Honey, a weekly arts and culture newsletter covering Liverpool, Manchester and the North West. Sign up below

The Comedy Carpet in Blackpool

And I spent a very mindful evening in Growing Sudley’s walled garden, in Liverpool. taking part in Singing for Wellbeing led by Rachel Waite from Holistic Harmonies. We sat on camping chairs with blankets while she guided us through some simple but pretty melodies and before we knew it we were singing four part harmonies by ear.

Singing in a group of people is one of those things I love to do for its own sake, rather than with a goal in mind, but rarely find the time for. This session was low-pressure (nobody was asked to sing a solo) and very relaxing. I loved watching the garden grow dark as the evening drew on. The next event is on Tuesday, September 9.

All subscribers should have received an update on a few changes to this newsletter, including new features for paid subscribers and an upcoming price increase (this won’t affect you if you already pay or sign up before the end of September). There are also new ways to see your work included in Stored Honey - details at the link and also at the end of this newsletter.

Now on to a packed September, which as always has far too many exhibitions, shows and events taking place for me to list them all so here are some of my top picks. There will be even more in future editions of Stored Honey.

This monthly what’s on guide is curated exclusively for paid members to thank them for their support, which is needed to keep Stored Honey running. If you would like to join us and receive it straight to your inbox, you can subscribe using this button…
