A note about Stored Honey this summer before we get started with all the incredible ways to spend your time during August: I’m going to take a break for the rest of this month - payments will be paused for those who subscribe monthly, and annual paid members will have the extra time added on to the end of their subscription.

As many theatres are dark and most exhibitions have already opened, it seems a good time to step away for just a little while to regroup, and to finish the manuscript for a book that is terrifyingly close to deadline. It’s also the last summer before my daughter starts secondary school and I suspect, although I hope I’m wrong, that she may not be quite as keen to spend as much time with me next year so I’m trying to make the most of these halcyon days of parenting while I can.

I will be back in September, ready for an autumn of cultural treats, interviews with artists, performers and theatre-makers, and reviews of new exhibitions. In the meantime, below is a list of my picks of things for you to enjoy. As well as the exhibitions opening and closing this month featured below, many of those included in my June and July picks are also ongoing.

This monthly guide is curated exclusively for paid members to thank them for their support, which is vital to keep Stored Honey running. If you would like to join them and receive it straight to your inbox, you can subscribe using this button…
