It’s been six months since I launched Stored Honey as a weekly newsletter celebrating the arts scene of the North of England. In that time I have loved exploring galleries and art festivals, chatting to theatre directors, curators and artists and sharing their stories with you.
And in return so many of you have opened this email week-after-week and been in touch to say how much you’ve enjoyed it - messages which have been a pleasure to read.
Together, we have proved there is an audience for regional arts journalism - a field that has been decimated over the past 10 years. I now want to build on that success, to ensure that Stored Honey is able to continue covering arts events for years to come - and to expand to bring you more stories, more suggestions that will help you plan your spare time, and to support the work of artists, theatre-makers and other creatives well into the future.
In order to do that there must be some changes…
One lesson I have learned from the first six months of Stored Honey is that I have spread myself too thinly. At this current time, I am unable to do justice to the whole of the Northern arts scene, so from this week the newsletter will focus on the North West instead of the region as a whole. I appreciate those of you who live outside this area may feel the newsletter is no longer relevant to your needs. If so, you can unsubscribe below - I truly appreciate your support so far. But if you are the sort of person who travels across county boundaries to see exciting art, then it would be an honour to have you along for the ride.
New membership scheme
Weekly Stored Honey editions will remain free to all subscribers but, for those who would like it, I will be introducing a paid option. For £4 per month (£40 for an annual subscription), you will become a member of Stored Honey’s Hive and receive exclusive additional content including:
The Stored Honey podcast: A monthly chat between artists, musicians, theatre-makers, actors, curators and other creatives about the things they’re buzzing out.
A monthly guide of highlights to help you plan your spare time and ensure you won’t miss out on the best exhibitions, shows, events and festivals taking place across the North West.
Access to the Stored Honey archives - editions will be archived three-weeks after publication when they will only be available to Hive members.
If you have already pledged, thank you - your support means more than you know. Payments are now switched on. For everyone else - if you would like to sign up as a member of the Stored Honey’s Hive then you can do via the button below.
Help shape the future of Stored Honey - and receive a one-month FREE membership
The membership scheme is only the start of my plans for Stored Honey but, before I make any more announcements, it is important to me that current subscribers are given the chance to shape its future.
There would be no Stored Honey without you reading it each week and any changes should reflect what you would like from it.
If you would like your views to shape its future please click below to fill in a survey. As a thank you, everyone who completes the survey will be gifted a free one-month Hive membership.
