This is the third in my new Meet a Creator series, published especially for Stored Honey’s paid subscribers, which delves deeply into the work and values of individual artists, actors, musicians, curators, producers, writers and other creatives. This time, we’re meeting Elinor Randle who, as well as being artistic director of the Unity Theatre in Liverpool, runs physical theatre company Tmesis Theatre.

This is Stored Honey, a weekly arts and culture newsletter covering England’s North West. Sign up to get it straight to your inbox

As a writer who loves words, I remember being bowled over when I first saw Elinor’s work with Tmesis, way back when I was arts editor of the Liverpool Daily Post, by how it was complete without them. Since Elinor took over as Unity Theatre’s artistic director last year, its programming has returned to the mixture of chance-taking and quality that made it so special under Graeme Phillips’ leadership. In her answers below, particularly enjoyed reading about how she involves the performers and the audience when devising a show.

The regular Meet the Creator feature is published exclusively for paid members to thank them for their support, which is needed to keep Stored Honey running.
